Its that time again... Tomorrow morning I'm off to southern Ca for close to a month! Training camp in Solvang is first on the list and I am so excited to see all my U-25 teammates (minus Jenna who I will miss while she is in Australia) and some of the other team members! Camp was so amazing last year and my first real glimpse into how truly amazing this team and group of people is and I am so thankful to be part of it for yet another year! Looking forward to hopefully clearer weather and nice long rides with some fabulous people.
After camp it will be off to Santa Monica for an extended three week hiatus from Starbucks and my life in the Bay Area as I know it. I am hoping my time will include (not limited to and in no specific order): great research time on an exciting project with Phil Keoghan (www.nooportunitywasted.com), working on my tanlines, some great rides with my teammates, awesome early season races with hopefully some results to show for it, and time spent with some friends I have not gotten to see in awhile. It is coming not a moment too soon! It will be nice to breathe in the socal air again!
As excited as I am to be heading out of town tomorrow I still havent mustered up the energy to pack. Packing for longer than two weeks is always a daunting task for me. I've gotten race weekend or week camp thing covered, but more than a week and I cant seem to imagine what I will need and I never fail to forget some major item. In past trips I have forgotten underwear, toothbrush, phone charger, and my personal favorite-pants. Here's to hoping I remember it all!
