Its funny how a single event or day can cause you to doubt yourself or your attitude to change completely.

I went on the group ride up here today and have been feeling really good about my fitness and how my preparation for the season is coming only to get dropped on the long climb. Granted...I got dropped ~3 min from the top and had averaged 21 mph up the climb with them for ~15 minutes which is huge for my little sprinter legs (or should I say big little sprinter legs?) before hand. I am pretty sure it was a mental give up though, I probably could have held on for another 3 minutes.... I need to work on my mental toughness. I am sitting here now though evaluating my worth as a cyclist... I hate that part of it.

I did make it over the first climb of the day 5th though with the break away group. I guess I have to look at the positives, right?

Off to the Chiropractor in a little bit. He has been on vacation in Brazil for 3 weeks so I am thrilled to be seeing Dr. Worrall again (http://jasonsjournal.typepad.com/). He has been amazing to work with the last 3 months and I dont think I would be able to be riding as long as I am now if it wasnt for him. I havent been able to ride without numbness in almost 3 years, and its been almost a month now that it has been gone. Another reason I think this year will be amazing.

I think lots of stretching and foam rolling for me tonight. Motor pacing on the track tomorrow is going to hurt. But San Dimas is only so far away and that is my first target race of the year. Time to hit the ground running! What am I complaining about...? This is why I love the sport! The pain! Bring it on!
