The Glamorous Life

I have been in Santa Monica for a week now and I could definitely get used to this life! I am living with Phil Keoghan (host of CBS The Amazing Race) and his wonderful wife Louise (my team president). The two of them are providing me with such an amazing opportunity working with them on a documentary. My day consists of waking up around 5:30-6 am (much better than 3:40 for my Starbucks gig) riding for 1:30-3 hours, cruising over to the office, doing research all day, then coming home and just relaxing. I LOVE IT.

Riding has been going really well with our first race of the season this past Saturday. For such an early season race we placed 4th, 9th, and 10th. We were active the entire race and for being so early and lacking any intensity in our legs I would say it was a good showing. Our evening the night before was spent at our sponsor shop, Cynergy Cycles in Santa Monica meeting our sponsors and learning all about our products for this season. I am really happy to be working with all the guys at Cynergy, Specialized for bikes, shoes, helmets, and shades, Exofficio for awesome clothing and Sierra Nevada for financial support as well as superior beverages among others. This year will definitely prove to be a break through experience for our team and I am so excited to be a part of it.

Still trying to decide if I am to race Boulevard this weekend. The forecast says rain in San Diego which most likely means snow in Boulevard and I dont want a repeat of hypothermia this year. I guess we'll see how the legs and weather come around.

Right now I am just so thankful for the life I am living and the people I have around me. Even when it feels like most things are crashing around me I know I still have the support of my friends, family, and teammates. You all know who you are-and thank you.
