Mediocre

I had an interesting meeting for lunch today. While I enjoyed my time and company the conversation led itself to some things that were difficult for me to hear.

"To chase your dream you need to make some big sacrifices. If you keep on like you are, sure you'll be fine, mediocre. But if you want to be great you need to change. You are very nice, charming, but that will not help you."

I have admitted that this season has been the most awful to date, and that proves that I do need to be fully engaged in my training, recovery, mental training, etc if I really want to do this. I had a lot going on this year, and I IN NO WAY REGRET the decisions that I made, but I need to make a change.

This year family came first. I made sacrifices in my training to be there for my family and help them when they needed me and then dealt with very hard times losing my dad. It has simply not been a convenient year to train, but I am not making any excuses from here on out. This is my time to be selfish and do what I need to do to achieve my goals. And that is what I will do. It is going to be hard making sacrifices that wont always make friends, but I must chase my dream NOW.

"You must be meticulous. You must focus on recovery as much as your training because without recovery you will never get stronger. Every detail is part of the plan. You need to do it now, not next year, etc. If you keep focusing on tomorrow, you'll never do it."

Here's to doing....
